Beautiful Forest Maternity Photos

Expecting mom Kati’s free spirit inspired the beautiful location for these forest maternity photos captured by Morgaine Owens of Pure Light Studio. The photos convey such a sense of calm peace and a timeless quality. Morgaine shared, “The forest location and autumn look to the landscape matched her hair and complexion perfectly! Kati’s adventurous spirit allowed for a fun session in the forest, and images that truly reflect her west coast lifestyle. I’m sure her baby will treasure these images, and be forever reminded of his/her place of birth!”

Pure Light Studio also captured some gorgeous indoor shots in a light, soft palette. One super sweet touch is the necklace Kati is wearing in some of the photos. The necklace is made up of a collection of beads given to her by her friends at her shower, which were then assembled the same day by one of her friends who is a jewelry designer. Now she has a beautiful piece of jewelry to always reminded her of her wonderful friends and their support. Too sweet and such a great idea for a group shower gift! Clark’s Daily Planet Themed Birthday Party

With her son Clark sharing the first name of Superman’s alter ego, Jenna Hendersen of jHenderson Studios decided “The Daily Planet” would make the perfect theme for his first birthday party. It goes hand in hand with Clark’s nursery decor featured here in a previous post. To tie in with the theme, Jenna designed an invitation to look like the front page of a newspaper, complete with a photo of a flying super Clark!

The event design and decor came together with the help and talent of Jennifer Hamilton of Mr. & Mrs. Weddings and Events. Pops of teal and yellow were added to a newsprint-inspired palette of black, white, and gray. Theme inspired touches, like the globe and typewriter, brought some fun into the space. Newspapers were used as a backdrop as well as a clever table runner. Guests enjoyed chili and all the fixings, followed by a delicious severing of cake. Pink and Gold Baby Shower for Twin Baby Girls

With twin baby girls on the way for Matt and Sarah, it was all about the pretty with this pink and gold baby shower hosted by Sarah’s sister-in-law, photographer Cyn Kain, along with two of Sarah’s best friends, Jessica and Mary Nell. Cyn photographed a maternity session for Sarah and Matt (see a couple shots below!), then sent one of the images to Ashley Brooke Designs who used it to create a custom invitation with matching gift tags, cupcake topper and stamps. They wanted to be sure to celebrate dad-to-be Matt as well and made it a coed shower. We’re so glad we’re seeing more and more showers that include the guys!

The shower was full of beautiful, feminine details to perfectly celebrate the little gals on the way, from the white florals by Bella Grace accented with gold, to the lovely pink linens. Tinsel topped drink stirrers from Em for Marvelous on Etsy added a sparkly pop of fun. Guests also had a lot of fun playing the pin game, where other guests could steal your pin if they heard you say “baby”, “babies” or “twins”. An adorable onesie, bib, and burp cloth station was also set up so crafty guests could get creative and make something sweet for the twins. The classic game where everyone’s makes a guess the size of mama’s belly was another activity, along with a swaddle game (with two babies, of course!).
